Reeve hopes $8.5B SinoCan refinery to call Lamont County home

 Fort Saskatchewan Record - September 27, 2018 The reeve of Lamont County is hoping a multi-billion dollar proposed refinery makes its way to the area. Last week, it was learned that a consortium of Alberta First Nations inked a deal with Chinese investors to get a once shuttered bitumen refinery up and running. Construction activity for the Norlite Pipeline Project is underway in your community. Your safety and that of our crews is our number one priority. The Oil and Gas Exploration, Extraction and Transportation Committee (OGEETC) hosted presenters from the National Energy Board (NEB) and the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) at its November 30, 2015 meeting in Lamont.
